With the inauguration of the Gayatri Devi Park for special children Near Navrang Theatre, Rajajinagar 2nd Block, Bangalore got its second park designed for mentally and physically challenged children. The park was inaugurated by Rajajinagar MLA and urban development minister S.Suresh Kumar on the 26th of August.

Screening away the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus in schools

As the panic over H1N1 virus increased, many schools across the Bangalore city remained closed due the lurking fear of victimizing their students to swine flu. With the proposed implementation of UID into the Right to Education policy, another purpose of the Unique Identity Number project was realized. The HRD ministry expects UID numbers to support the new legalization of free and compulsory education to the children in the age group of 6 to 14.

Free Education Bill tabled by Indian Parliament

The Indian Parliament on July 20 has passed a landmark education bill that guarantees free and compulsory education for children aged between six and fourteen.  This move by the government of India holds promise of educating a large percentage of young India.
