This year saw a total of 101,988 students appear for the class X ICSE examination. As many as 4,645 students from 85 schools in the State had appeared for the ICSE X exams.
Region wise pass percentage is shown below:

West India: 99.38%
South India: 99.22%
East India:97.22%
North India: 97.55%

All students scored above 75%. The science stream toppers were Salman Kutub Kahan and Nruthya Madappa with 94.8%. Jairam Janardhan was commerce topper with 94.4%

The school scored 100% results. the topper is Dipti Kamat with 95.2%

Karnataka with a pass percentage of 96.57 emerged number one among the four southern states: Andhara Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the CBSE class XII exams for 2008.
Here is the pass percentage for each of these states:
Andhra Pradesh: 88.26%
Kerala: 93.60%
Tamil Nadu: 96.19%

The enrolment in English medium schools in the classes from Grade I to VIII rose by 74% (54.7 lakh in 2003 to 95.1 lakh in 2006) in the year between 2003 to 2006.
In Karnataka the % of total enrolment in the English medium increased from 16% to 18%.
The growth is motly in southern states (non-Hindi) which account for 60% of the students enrolled in English medium in the year between 2003-2006.
